Wrinkle Assignments Change

Weekly ELA News 11/18 - 11/22
This week marks that we are 3 quarters through A Wrinkle in Time. It's really picking up the pace. This week (finishing Ch 9) also marks a change in our assignments surrounding the novel study.
Up until this point, students have been doing the following assignments every week around our novel:
- Using context clues to try to figure out their vocab term (1 per chapter)
- Looking up the actual definition of their vocab term (1 per chapter)
- Chapter Reviews (1 per chapter)
- Reading the book at school and at home
To see these assignments explained in detail, head to the ELA page, or this older blog post: Beginning our Novel Study - A Wrinkle in Time. These assignments are expected for Chapters 1 - 9 of Wrinkle.
As of next week though, all of these ongoing assignments are canceled for Chapters 10-12 to give students time to work on their final project for the novel study. These ongoing assignments have helped students practice important skills good readers have and if they would like to continue using them, they are always available.
Be on the look out for detail about our final project for Wrinkle. It's my hope that students are so interested in what's happening that they can't put it down over Thanksgiving break!
