Week of Models

6th Grade Science

More Solar System studying underway in 6th grade this week!  Look at us building a living model in our classroom (with our bodies!) below.  We also modeled the 8 planets to scale by size and distance from the sun later in the week.  This week was so much fun to teach, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.  Be sure to ask your student something they've learned thus far!

7th Grade Science

7th grade had an active week as well!  From diluting our DNA by flipping a coin and looking at the codes of our hypothetical great-great-grandchildren to building an actual model of a gene (with correct A, T, G, C combinations mind you) we had our hands full!

8th Grade Science

In 8th grade science we worked on building our knowledge of global climates and weather in general this week to aid in our discussion of climate change.  We discovered the different biomes of the earth, tried (and mostly failed) to predict weather patterns.  (Hey!  It's really hard!!) and built our foundational knowledge to strengthen our discussion and discovery in the weeks to come.  Be on the lookout for pictures next week of a fun "game" I hope we get to play!
