Ms. Mayor, take it away...

Weekly Homeroom News 11/26 - 11/30

Instead of me blabbing on about what we did in homeroom/community meeting time this week, I thought I'd let you hear from the person who really made it happen - our weekly Mayor!

11/26 to 11/30 Mayor - Kaitlyn

"Monday- We shared our highs and lows of the weekend.
Tuesday- We shared our thanksgiving family traditions.  It was Jonathon's birthday.  When there is a birthday we go around the circle and give the birthday boy or girl wishes/blessings/hopes for the day.
Wednesday- We brainstormed ideas to become better older buddies.  At the end we had a solid list of good and bad ways to treat our buddies.
Thursday- We shared what our favorite pet/animal was with the class.  My favorite that I heard was a dragon, and a dare devil goldfish named Lucky.
Friday- As a group activity we played never have I ever.  We learned that Colton has never drank paint, and that lots of people have hung upside down by their feet.

I enjoyed being mayor this week and I hand it off to Preston :)
"

Kaitlyn was a fantastic Mayor.  She lead with authority and fairness.  She waited for the class to listen to her and to each other.  I was especially impressed with her greetings (the mayor always has the class do a greeting before we start our activity for the meeting).  I thoroughly enjoyed her "Spock and Lock" rendition of a handshake.  Such fun!  Thank you for being such a great Mayor, Kaitlyn.  I was impressed by your leadership and your guidance for our class!

Such a great week.  Looking forward to two more weeks before break with these awesome students.
