Wrinkle in Time Chapter 1-3

We've finished the exposition of our novel and are starting to get to the good stuff.  A Wrinkle in Time has 12 chapters and we've just completed Chapter 3.  We will be breaking the entire novel up into chunks of three chapters each.  Each section we go through we will have a "quiz" before we move on through the rest of the book.  For most quizzes, I let students use any notes they have taken during the time we've spent studying it.  It will be just a quick check-in for me of how each student is doing in moving through the Novel.  There will not be a big test at the end, but instead an interactive project...but more to come on that later.

We are just finishing up Chapters 1-3.  Students are more than welcome to re-read any of the chapters we have already covered in preparation for any quizzes or assessments we'll have.  It's so hard to stop reading students are loving the book so much.  I wish you could hear the questions and dialogue that happens when we're reading.  They've been fantastic.  I'll try to record some for the blog next week.

Missing books in my personal library... :(

Parents, community, but mostly students,

I'm noticing more and more books go missing from my personal library.  I've spent a lot of time and money building this collection for no other purpose than to benefit the students I encounter over the course of my career.  Please do not take books from my library without checking them out from me.  Please do not take books that do not belong to you.  It makes my heart sad.  So sad that I forget my professionalism and use emoticons.

Books are wonderful companions and treasures.  If you LOVE a book, you may borrow it, but I would like it to be returned so that future kids can enjoy it too.  Thanks in advance for bringing any  books you have at home back to school, where they belong.
