Homeroom Weekly News 4/16 - 4/20
Hey there homeroom,
It’s been quite some time since we’ve had a full, “normal” week together at MRA. It was good to get back into routine with the students this week. It was a little difficult on Monday and Tuesday for some of our students to fall back into the school scene, but we all made it through the week. It’s been quite some time since we’ve had a full, “normal” week together at MRA. It was good to get back into routine with the students this week. It was a little difficult on Monday and Tuesday for some of our students to fall back into the school scene, but we all made it through the week. In reading and writing, we’re hard at work on our portfolios! We’re trying to make sure we
understand what published writing needs to look like, and how to communicate effectively through this medium. I’m already excited for our Portfolio Showcase! I hope that all of you can come to celebrate with us. It will be the same day as Graduation – June 11th!
Thank you to all the parents who helped, supported, collaborated, and/or attended the MRA Auction last Saturday. Our bookshelves raised $25, our basket raised $30, and my teacher time (trip to Powells) raised $50! I really appreciate the help I received from parents and families in pulling all of our Auction pieces together. We couldn’t have done it without you.
I sent home a few things today: subway forms, Mad Science, and Scholastic Book Orders just to name a few. As always, please do not feel obligated to buy from the book orders. They are there if you want them, and make great compost green material if you don’t. Book orders are due next Wednesday. We will have one more final book order this year towards the end of May. I try not to send them home too often but would welcome feedback if you feel you’d like them more (or less) often than they are now.
