Camp Cedar Ridge 2012!

by Willow on April 12th, 2012

Hey there Senior families!

Willow here, and greetings from Camp Cedar Ridge!  I can’t stay long.  It’s almost time for field study and the internet here comes and goes at it own will, but while I got it to cooperate for just a few minutes, I thought I’d send a little note to let you know that we are all have a fantastic time here at ODS!
I’ll write a full weekly news tomorrow (pictures included) so check back with our blog this weekend to see more of our week together.  The internet is too slow for me to update pictures today.  I tried and it's not working for me.  I'll get a full blog update tomorrow.

I’m also working with Bronco (Mr. W), Bear Claw (Mr. O.), and Polar (Ms. E.) on creating a “snapfish” photo account.  If I understand it correctly, I will be able to make a group in which we can ALL (myself, the other teachers, and students) upload photos in one place, and you can then log on (with a password) and download any photos you wish to print or have for your own personal use.  This way, if your child isn’t a budding photographer, but they would still like some pictures from our week together, you can download the ones you choose.  More to come on this new feature.  I’ll put the information on my website as well.  As it has a password protection, it will be a great way for us to safely share pictures and videos with each other.  I’m excited!

All of your students send their love.  They’re so busy and loving what we’re doing that they hardly notice the time slipping by so quickly.  From Plants, Water, Animals, and Soil Field Study, to cabin time, rec, and campfire, we're so busy having fun and learning every step of the way.  It's crazy to think that this time tomorrow we’ll be back at MRA.

I’m going to go enjoy the last little bit of time we have here with our wonderful students.  I wish you could see the huge smiles on their faces.  Just priceless.

Take care,
Emily “Willow” Nilsen

ODS was so fun. My favorite rotation was soil. It was my favorite because we saw a nursing log and learned all about it, and on the way back Mrs. Nilsen, Ms.Erickson, and a few of the camp leaders licked a banana slug. Everyone had an amazing time. :-)
